About this place
Along a street in the Shijo-Omiya area, a pathway-like entrance leads up a flight of stairs to the 3nd floor, where Nony's Bar displays its sign. Centered on a welcoming counter, the cozy room provides a relaxed environment to take in house-infused spirits and seasonal fruit concoctions.
For a first drink, the bar's inventive signature creations are an obvious place to start. House infusions produce layered, unexpected profiles, from the Nony's Gin Tonic—featuring gin infused with cucumber and olives, paired with celery bitters—to the savory Bloody Nony, blending bacon-infused vodka with tomato juice. The drink menu covers a broad range beyond these signatures, including Moscow Mules and hot ginger tea spiked with housemade ginger syrup, drinks highlighting fresh seasonal fruit like pear, peach, and citrus, and thoughtful non-alcoholic options.
Between drinks, visitors can graze on casual bites like house-smoked mixed nuts, an assorted smoked platter, or a house potato salad with daily touches. Open from late afternoon until 1:00 late at night, the bar is equally suited for a quiet solo nightcap or an easygoing conversation with friends to end an evening in Kyoto.
